HOLBORN, LONDON.

Creating a flexible workplace, a gem hidden in plain sight.

In 2019, McKinsey & Company, the most distinguished management consultants in the world, repositioned their visual identity and changed their work environment to better suit the constantly evolving ways in which their employees and clients' work. Designed by MoreySmith, it showcases users' demand for a flexible workspace, allowing employees to select their optimum working environment.

Health and wellness spaces were also integral to the design, featuring a coffee and juice bar, greenhouse and relaxation rooms. Our challenge was to create an interior branding concept that brought the strong business culture of McKinsey & Company to life in engaging ways.

Manifestation graphics complemented the clean lines and design of the wayfinding signage. The pattern, applied in frost, featured subtle and delicate vertical or diagonal lines that added privacy to meeting room suites without being overbearing or distracting to meeting room users.

The partnership mark was created by Wolff Ollins as part of McKinsey & Co.’s new branding. We found interesting ways to weave the new graphics into the space to celebrate this modern new direction for the business.

The large footprint of the building required an efficient wayfinding system. We developed a design concept to stitch the building together and a wayfinding strategy around central meeting locations to anchor colleagues and visitors.

“The property provides the ingredients, interior design and architecture create the cake, the icing and candles make that cake special & personal.

THEM add that special layer. A fantastic team who embrace the essence of the project as a whole, the solutions inject the excitement of identity and graphic engagement synonymous with the overall design vision.”
